Random news on my resolution

I resolved in January to finish a quilt. (The pattern is called Viewpoint by Laundry Basket Quilts.) See previous blog post.

This is Viewpoint…not a big quilt. I should be able to quilt myself.

Maybe I would quilt it by hand, probably using my big stitch method. No, that would just delay the finish. Then I looked through my stash for a backing, looking for something suitable for machine quilting back to front. I didn’t find what I thought I wanted. I still wanted it done and thought I could finish it in January. Instead I finished a baby quilt.

I made this quilt for my grandson, Holden.

I thought I could finish Viewpoint in February. I looked through my stash for a backing, looking for something suitable for quilting in the ditch. I didn’t find what I thought I wanted. Instead I started another baby quilt.

I made this quilt for my great niece, Selah.

I thought I could finish Viewpoint in March. I looked through my stash for a backing, looking for ANYTHING. I found a piece of minky that WAS suitable. I took the backing and the quilt top to Quilted Treasures where they quilted it on the long arm machine. I picked it up about ten days later and sewed the binding on and I still have the hand work left to go. I also started a third baby quilt. No photo of that yet. But I plan to post about it later.

I made this quilt for my daughter-in-law, Hannah.
